Brief
Happy Elephant is a local Thai restaurant in my hometown. The owner, Namfon, grew up near the Chao Praya River in Thailand, where she learned to cook by helping her grandmother prepare food for the monks. While the restaurant has great food, their brand identity is all over the place. Because of this, I decided to take on a rebrand of Happy Elephant as a personal project.
Solution
While I modernized the brand identity, I kept a natural overall feel because of the restaurant's wholesome roots. In order to retain their previous recognition, I kept the color palette the same. Wavy lines can be seen across the branding elements, meant to be reminiscent of the Chao Phraya River where the owner grew up and learned to cook.
